The Beginning of the Next Golden Era for Financial Advice

Tips for Avoiding Groundhog Day in 2020 While Turning Your Business into Something You Love

Ever wish you could flash back in time? Back to a time in your life when things were just plain good?

Amidst the unrelenting dust storm that is 2020, I recently asked this question of a fellow adviser. To which “March 2017” came her reply. “Why?” I asked…

“My business was humming along. I had referrals coming out of my ears, profits were healthy, and most of my time was spent doing things I actually liked – establishing and nurturing relationships with clients most of all.

Now every day seems like Groundhog Day. Compliance, FASEA and the countless other time sucking tasks that must be done in 2020.”

I will admit I felt her pain, for financial advisers’ lives were definitely easier three years ago; but here’s the best part of the worst part: many have already thrown in the towel and countless others will follow suit.

In a time of unprecedented change comes unprecedented opportunity. To borrow from Socrates, “The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” Instead of accepting your new low-paying role as chief plate spinner in the three-ringed circus that is 2020, see now as an opportunity to reboot, to transform your business into a business, not the JOB it has become.

I’ll admit to being luckier than most to have advice businesses that are now in many respects self-sufficient – that no longer rely on referrals for growth – that generate sufficient income to outsource the things we hate doing the most. But it has not been easy….

We started on this journey back in 2016. It’s been an overnight success four years in the making (ha ha).

But enough about me. How can you have this too?

Start by putting in place reliable systems that:

  • Generate new leads, consistently.
  • Allow you to generate sufficient income to outsource.
  • Ensure the delivery of compliant advice with less and less of your own time.

i.e. things that will give you back the time to work on your business, not in it.

When all of this happens, you will find Monday morning can actually look pretty nice… and the rest of 2020 can too!

If you want to know what our systems look like, apply to join our upcoming exclusive mastermind group where I’ll share with you the insights that have led to the creation of our seven-figure businesses. Most of all I’ll share with you the things that will save you years of wasted effort and frustration as you build your own.

There may not be a silver bullet, but there are people who already hold the answers.

To sunnier skies ahead.
